"Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will be as one. "

A Bit Chilly

Furnace stopped working two nights ago. It was 6 degrees when I got up and I was missing the warmth. Fortunately I have a great space heater that takes up the slack and warms the living room quickly. I can't re-light the pilot light myself so the landlord stopped by last night. The poor old furnace is not going to last much longer. I don't know how long a furnace is supposed to last but this one was installed when this place was built over 30 years ago. Last night it was warm and cozy inside again.

Tea Bag

I don't mind being compared to a tea bag. Hot and strong sounds good to me.

Warning

Warning: This post is a bit risque. If you are a prude, don't read this. You have been warned.

I enjoyed a quiche today, the crustless kind, with onions and black olives, easy to make and delicious.

Made me think of this cute picture, so I decided to share it with my blogging buddies.

Never Run With Scissors

I can count on one hand the number of times I ran in the last year. And those were necessary, not for exercise or fun.  One time was with a friend who was having a stroke so I ran a half block to find her sister and ran back when her sister wasn't there. I do walk however. I am not a couch potato, partly because I don't watch TV and don't watch movies all day either on Netflix. The most I walked was when I was visiting my son and daughter-in-law in January. We did a lot of walking in the downtown area. It is so cold and slippery here at home I won't walk outside right now. Just to and from the car, waddling out the front door in many layers of clothes and squeezing into the car and praying the heater will jump start for me. I even have a scarf over my face so I don't have to breathe the cold air which makes my sinuses hurt. I am beginning to understand why some of my older friends don't go out much in winter.

The Luuv Holiday

Am I a fan of Valentines Day? Not so much. I used to like it. Back in the Luuv Days. For me, it isn't a mushy smoochy honey baby holiday. But I am still a great fan of Luuv (Love). Always will be. I Love my kids, my grandkids, my brother and sister-in-law, my aunts and uncles, my friends (online included).

If you are into the card, chocolates, and flowers part of this holiday, then I wish you a super wonderful day. If you are not into the Valentines thing, then I still hope you have a wonderful day, your way. Either way, here's to Love, True love for humanity, for the small kindnesses we show each other whether we know each other or not. Here is a big red heart balloon for each one of you.

Tomato/Tomahto

Why does the word "smite" mean not so nice,  as in to attack or affect severely or strike with a weapon. Ouch.

But the word "smitten" is sweet and nice and means attraction to someone.
Nice.

You get a glimpse into the strange things I wonder about. At least strange to me.

Folding Sheets

My folded sheets don't take up this much room actually, since my queen size sheets are smashed down more than this. For so many years I spent lots of time getting corners matched and flat. Now I don't want to spend a moment longer than necessary to do something as mundane as this. Heck, at least I wash sheets every week. Pillow cases get changed during the week because I like planting my face in the pillow and breathing in the fresh smell of the pillow case.

There, I shared one of my deep secrets with you. Now you share one of yours with me!
